Jefferson St and 28th Ave

The Civic Design Center and TURBO are working with various stakeholder groups to in the North Nashville Community to address specific issues involving safety, mobility and creativity. Input from the survey below regarding Jefferson Street will be taken into consideration when potentially implementing a temporary installation at the corner of Jefferson St and 28th Ave. This intersection is an important nexus for the North Nashville Neighborhood.
The ideas in this image summarize what we heard from a Tennessee State University Urban Studies class. Members of the Civic Design Center staff met with this class and conducted a design charrette where the results identified the intersection of Jefferson St and 28th Ave as an area that needed attention. Discussion around this intersection (as well as Jefferson St generally) centered on topics like where do students; “hang-out”, shop, get groceries, eat, live, and have opportunities for employment.
